Excellent food. A wonderful variety to make everyone in your party happy.
Food was delicious and well prepared but the service was awful. We watched our sushi sit at the sushi bar for 20 minutes and neither the sushi chef or our waitress would acknowledge it and bring it to our table. Finally my boyfriend got up to go get it himself and only then did the waitress rudely come over. She also felt the need to tell us how to tip on the original bill like we didn't know how to do that.
Their sushi is fresh and amazingly prepared with the greatest skill!! We love coming here and will continue to visit Newport Tokyo House.

Food was absolutely delicious and had big portion sizes. The restaurant itself could use some fresh paint and deep clean though.

One person in our party ordered fish the other steak.. The cook spread the oil on the grill and started to cook the fish then moved it off to the side. Then took my steak and placed it in the oil from the fish. I could taste the fish on the steak. It really was awful to be honest.

The waitstaff were pleasant and helpful. The food presentation and preparation was wonderful. The orders came to our table fast even after ordering different things at different times.

Waited for drinks 20 minutes ask for condiments 3 times still didn't get them ordered lobster tail filet mignon hibachi got Lobster only which was overcooked and cold vegetables were cold also then waited another 20 minutes for my filet mignon which was served cold and raw then when it was time to cash the bill they had added a side of filet mignon on top of a full Lobster hibachi

The waitress was very friendly though she was the only one working and when we got there there were a good amount of people at the bar but she came over after she served the next person and was very pleasant.

The service was HORRIBLE. Very slow We ordered apps to be served as our dinner. They were brought out one at a time per person. Even though it was explained in detail to bring out all together. The bottle of wine took 20 minutes to be opened & served. Will not return.

We Love Oishi Sushi! The Owners and the other employees are Awesome! We've been eating there for several years, at least once a month, if not more often. We've been to a lot of Sushi restaurants in the 20+ years we've been eating Sushi, and we'd say this is some of the best we've ever had, and definitely the best we've had in the Hampton Roads area.

My boyfriend and I shared a filet mignon hibachi dinner and 3 maki rolls, one of which was a special. Our food came quickly, we had a great waitress, and the food was excellent! The special, "the volcano", was very spicy and extremely flavorful - definitely not for people prefer their food mild. Can't understand why this place isn't more packed.
It's a nice, cozy little restaurant. There are two sides (both same menu): a small hibachi side - sitting around the grill, and a sushi side w/ seating in booths, tables, or at the sushi bar.
Food was good, but had to order a side of fried rice. Otherwise, the portion would have been pretty small.

We went on a quiet Monday evening, so there were only a few people there. The service was excellent... We sat at the Hibachi grill. The food prep was fun to watch. I had salmon & scallops with vegetables & noodles. The meals also come with soup & salad.

We felt very "in the way" at this restaurant. From the minute we walked in, we felt like unwelcomed house guests; the hostess was frustrated that we did not have a reservation and seated us without a greeting. Once seated we were still in the way, since every worker there bumped into or tripped ovre our chairs. Our hibachi cook was GREAT, delicious food, but smaller portions than other hibachi restaurants we've been to. The waitress was hard to find for drinks and other requests, and our bill was incorrect (as were the bills of several other tables, we noticed). A language barrier prevented us from getting the price adjusted. Fair warning for this place: make a reservation and know that the prices on the menu are incorrect.

I have heard good things about this restaurant but the sushi was definitely a disappointment. I wasn't able to finish my plate, and I've never before done that. I love sushi too much to waste any of it! I might come back to try the hibachi, but never again for sushi
