The food was excellent. The specials were seasonal and delicious. The wine list was average for an Italian restaurant. The service was friendly but a little slow. The decor was traditional.

Our server was not very helpful and even rude at times. Our water was not refilled, we had to ask for parmesan cheese and when a new guest arrived at our table, he did not acknowledge her at all.
It has been a while since I have been to a restaurant that had such a nice, quiet, and restful atmosphere. I have grown tired of the noise and hustle at other establishments. Food was good too!

Paper covering the tablecloths made it seem cheap - the food was excellent and the atmosphere very nice. Service was on time and pleasant but not very … sincere. Everything was nice, but no one on staff seemed genuinely pleased to be there.
The service was extremely slow. We waited a half-hour just to receive our salads, one of which arrived with onions on it after asking for it without onions. We were at the restaurant for over 2 hours and had to add extra money to our parking meter. When we complained about the service towards the end of the meal, nothing was done about it and it took an extremely long time to receive our check.
Food was very good, but had to wait 30 minutes for our table & we had a reservation.

The service was great and the server was very pleasant. We had nice conversation about he was from in Italy. We all loved the food we ordered and the bread was freshly baked and tasted (and smelled) delicious!

Food excellent, both quality and quantity. Very pleasant atmosphere. Service a bit slow, especially waiting for check. Got drink order wrong. Had to request things routinely offered elsewhere, like drink re-fill and Parmesan cheese. Server requested payment with the coupon though she hadn't yet given us the check. Place wasn't so busy as to justify any confusion. These are small issues and I would return for the food. However, online reviews I've seen consistently point out service issues, so this merits management attention.
In the past, we have always enjoyed Trattoria Sorrento; not so tonight. While I asked that the pasta be served with oil and garlic, it came to the table with marinara sauce. Instead of the server simply bringing me another order of pasta, she took my plate making it necessary for me to wait to get my food while others at the table were already eating. The eggplant was overcooked so that it was mushy. What was most annoying was that, standing immediately behind my daughter, one of the waitresses engaged in a lengthy and loud conversation with one of the patrons who was also standing behind our table.
The food is ordinary. The service is slow (the restaurant was not even half full).

My time at Trattoria Sorrento was rather disappointing. After reading so many rave reviews about the restaurant, their staff, and the food, the reality fell pretty flat. My guest and myself were one of three parties in the entire restaurant, and while our server was attentive, she gave off a really uncomfortable vibe, like she was surprised that we were even there. The food came out and was nothing better than okay. Think of any other Italian restaurant and this is no better. The huge menu can be pretty overwhelming and makes decisions take much longer than they need to.
The food was outstanding. However, we wish our waiter had been more friendly and less aluff.

Prompt and friendly service. Salmon, pasta and veal entrees prepared well and very tasty.

I could have had a little more food. The size of the side pasta was very small. Not enough food for a man. Maybe OK for an old lady.
Our last meal was not up to snuff. The Mamma Mia pasta tasted left over, and my wife's chicken did not taste hot and fresh either. The waiter was curt and not particularly gracious. I will not come on a Thursday night again. (The Branzini, at least, was very good.)
We were thinking of trying the restaurant one day regardless, but having the restaurant.com certificate definitely made it a done deal. Very delicious. Had a wonderful dinner :)

Service was slow. Seemed as though one waiter was servicing entire restaurant. Food was good as always, it just seemed that the server was not very attentive to our table.

The reviews seemed pretty good but the food just didn't meet our expectations. Bland, lack luster, and unmemorable.
